Written by tod tody

“It almost ruined my entire life…but now I’m back on the track, life is better now…I’m free of heroin addiction!”…

Among all known kinds of opiates around the world, heroin is the most widely abused and highly addictive substance in society today. Heroin is made from morphine, which is an innate component, derived from the seed pod of specific varieties of poppy plants. Heroin is usually available in the form of white powder that is bitter in taste. These common types of heroin are usually sold on the streets in small amounts. There are also certain types of heroin that appear as black or dark brown. Heroin has a severe effect on the individual and is a powerful depressant that is highly addictive. Heroin's immediate effects are intense and instantaneous. Upon administering it to the body through intravenous injection, a certain "rush" is immediately experienced by the user followed by a certain feeling of euphoria and security. These short term effects are typically evanescent in nature, quickly disappearing for a couple of hours.

Heroin addiction is currently one of the biggest drug and alcohol recovery related issues facing our nation. It has been one of the leading addiction among teenagers, students…the youth. Due to widespread popularity of heroin, as well as the drastically lowered price on the street, heroin addiction is on the spotlight. Younger people are using and becoming addicted as well as many other socially diverse groups of people as a result of the higher potency of the drug and lowered street level price.
How I Got Over It

I have to admit that it’s never that easy as it may seem. Addiction is something that is really hard to overcome. Battling with my heroin addiction was one of the most courageous steps I made, and it was worth it!

Drug rehabilitation centre has played the greatest part on my life-changing choice. Lifestyle change was a necessary thing to do too. I avoided situations, activities and places that would probably lead me to heroin use again. Though it was tough task, I also bid farewell to my heroin addicted friends. I also engaged into new activities to occupy my time now that I’m no longer using heroin. I would also suggest that you make plans for your free time so you are not bored and thinking about using heroin.
Completely saying no and forgetting about heroin addiction is never too hard if you got the will! Live better, live free of heroin addiction! tod tody
