What is anxiety?

Dictionary.com tells us

"distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune: He felt anxiety about the possible loss of his job."

The anxiety that most of us experience most unpleasantly, is an ongoing level of fear that it is not pure terror, but is bad enough that it causes significant emotional suffering and physical distress (and possibly disorders) over a long period of time.

If we learn to manage or eliminate anxiety, we regain control of our emotions and our body.

A return to peacefulness after anxiety is truly profound. You might not truly appreciate peace and relaxation until after you have been pulled away from them by anxiety (or frustration, stress, etc.). Once you know just how unpleasant suffering can be when you do not have peace and relaxation, you will have a much deeper appreciation of them.

When anxiety is eliminated, and you regain control of your emotional life... it is an intensely powerful experience. You will feel great, and people around you will notice!

How can you cure your anxiety?

Self hypnosis is one of the most powerful tools for reducing and eliminating anxiety.

Self hypnosis encourages the awareness of self the will help eliminate the roots of anxiety, and it offers the simple techniques that will begin to reduce the anxiety that has already occurred in your life.

A simple process that will help you begin to eliminate your anxiety right now:

1. Find a peaceful quiet place where you can sit upright and relax without interruptions.
2. Take a few slow, deep breaths. Allow yourself to deeply relax.
3. Begin to examine the roots of anxiety. Continue to relax deeply as you do this. Think of recent events that seemed to cause anxiety. Then notice the reaction in yourself. Notice the sensations that came up. Notice the images. Notice the sounds.
4. Now imagine yourself a few moments before the anxiety came up. Continue to breathe deeply and slowly as you notice the peacefulness in yourself before anxiety.
5. Notice what you can change in order to reduce or eliminate the anxiety before it arises. Can you bring a little more peace and relaxation to every moment of every day? Can you begin to relax your perceptions in order to see, hear, and feel what you used to consider anxiety in a different way? Could you experience what used to be 'anxiety' as mild excitement around new positive possibilities in your life?
6. Now that you have vividly imagined the necessary changes, imagine taking them forward into your life. Imagine 3 different situations coming up in the future that would have caused anxiety. Imagine how the transformed you now handles these situations easily, effortlessly, peacefully.
7. Take a few moments every day to remember the more peaceful, anxiety free person you are becoming.

With just a little bit of consistent practice with self hypnosis and relaxation, you will begin to quickly cure your own anxiety.  Benjamin Langley
