When road rage sets in your perception of the world changes. Everyone on the road is trying to irritate and inconvenience you. The only thing to do is to beat them at their own game. Angry drivers make poor decisions, take needless risks, and make last-minute choices that could potentially put others on the roadway in danger. Try to avoid driving in situations that are likely to make you angry. When another driver does something that upsets you, try to remain calm. Think to yourself, "I am not a perfect driver either. I am sure that I have made someone else feel upset before too." Be forgiving of the other motorist's apparent shortcomings. Focus on driving safely in order to reduce your own risk - not on getting even with the offending driver. |
