Different Types of Hypnosis
There are many different types of hypnosis, used for curing or treating a wide range of behavioural problems. It is a treatment highly regarded by Medical Practitioners and Professionals. Some of the more common treatments are curing bad habits like smoking or overeating, curing phobias, preventing negative thoughts and emotions and much more.
Covert hypnosis is a more unconventional form of hypnosis and is also known as conversational hypnosis. In simple terms it is performed while the subject is completely awake, and they have no idea that they are being hypnotised, as it is carried out by having a seemingly simple conversation with the subject. It uses various techniques for it's effectiveness, among them NLP or neuro linguistic programming.
It is possible to change a persons negative thoughts into positive ones merely by planting suggestions into their subconscious mind through conversing with them. This can trigger a reaction in them that they possibly would not have performed themselves, although they will think it was completely their own idea.
The whole hypnosis process involves the use of body language, the specific terms used, and the order you use them in.
Covert Hypnosis Is Procedural
Covert hypnosis is a procedural system so the steps to perform it need to be done in a particular order. The main point to note is that first of all you must have the full attention of your subject in order to hypnotise them effectively.
The first step for doing this is to gain their trust and build a rapport with them, and this is possible in most cases, by just agreeing with what they are saying.
Build Rapport
As a very simple example, your subject may say "All politicians are liars" and the hypnotist would respond "I agree with you, all politicians are liars".
This has the effect of building instant rapport with the subject as it would not be the answer they were expecting.
The next step is to create confusion in their mind, and the hypnotist would say something like "But surely you don't mean all politicians are liars?". This would confuse the subject and cause them to respond with something like "Well I guess politican X isn't a liar". This has the immediate effect of planting a suggestion in their mind that is in direct contrast to their original statement.
In this way it is possible to subtly implant suggestions in their subconscious, while the subject will think later that they were their own idea.
Covert Hypnosis Techniques Are Subtle
The techniques used in covert hypnosis are very effective when the subject has a very negative perspective or outlook on life, and can change their way of thinking.
The changes achieved are very subtle and are made by altering their perception of a particular situation, and steering their focus to a more positive path.
Because it's a very powerful medium, covert hypnosis should not be used for personal gain or abuse. It should only be used as a self help or personal growth tool, and this should also apply when using it on other people.
Because it is so powerful, it should only be attempted by a person who has been thoroughly trained in covert hypnosis.
